Talk to Zaivik →
What is cow bilona desi ghee?

It is cow-milk ghee made through the bilona sequence: set milk into curd, hand-churn the curd to collect makhan, then slowly cook that makhan into ghee.

Why does the process start with curd?

Setting the milk into curd comes before the hand-churning stage in this bilona method. The curd is then churned to gather makhan for slow-cooking.

What is makhan?

Makhan is the butter collected during the curd-churning stage. It is the ingredient that is slowly cooked and clarified into ghee.

How can I use this ghee in everyday cooking?

Enjoy it with hot rotis, dal, khichdi or rice, or use it in a family recipe that calls for ghee. Follow your recipe for quantity and cooking method.

Why can ghee be grainy, soft or liquid?

Ghee changes consistency with the surrounding temperature. It can be grainy or firmer when cooler and softer or liquid when warmer. Check the condition and date of your own jar before use.

Does this product contain milk?

Yes. The ingredient is cow milk and this is a dairy product. Read the full ingredient and allergen declarations on your jar.

Which jar size is better value?

The pack cards show the current product price, MRP and price per litre for 350 ml, 500 ml and 1 L. The 1 L jar currently has the lowest price per litre. Its value note compares it with two 500 ml jars; shipping depends on your complete order subtotal.

Where can I find a report for my jar?

Open Trace a Batch, choose Cow Billona Desi Ghee and enter the code printed on your jar. If your product or batch is not listed, contact Zaivik with the product name and batch code for help with the matching record.

What should I check in a batch report?

Match the product and printed batch first. Then read the identified sample, dates, tested parameters, methods, reporting limits and findings. A report applies to the sample and tests it describes.

How should I store the ghee and check its shelf life?

Keep the jar closed in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Use a clean, dry spoon. The supplied regular cow-ghee label states best before 9 months from packaging; check the date information on your own jar.

Do the pictures show the exact jar size I will receive?

The jar illustration and six process infographics are pack-size agnostic. The label photographs show the 500 ml pack. We supply the volume you choose: 350 ml, 500 ml or 1 L. Confirm it on the pack card, cart and order summary.
